Great reminder to us all Angie!
This is the kind of unsexy work that is usually overlooked in the project scoping process by both the designers and the client. It's easy to do because it is so ubiquitous in our everyday online experience. However, this oversight typically resolves itself by being left to development to uncover and resolve, which, no offense guys and gals, is NOT the best solution.
So, make sure you plan and budget appropriately, or you will sabotage a lot of hard work by not covering the bases.

I agree with Corine you can never get true feedback from the site. They always show their positive side and delete the feedbacks which critisise them. I liked the post and analysis you done and I am strongly agreee with you.
Business Process Management

Nice analysis of why the hotel site's automated feedback did not match the site's overall tone or goals, detracted from your user experience, and could cost the hotel some business without their realizing. Even the choice of the color red matters to the tone and the experience!
